Protection of crops against cold and frost

With the arrival of cold weather, the growth rate of the plants slows down and the crops suffer the effects of stress derived from frost, low temperatures, excess humidity and the decrease in daylight hours. It is very important to protect crops against cold and frost.

eCoCulture offers farmers a series of effective tools to combat the negative effects of these adverse conditions.

NHDeltaCa and NHDeltaK

NH Delta products are stabilised nitrogen with calcium, potassium, magnesium or copper fertilizer which enhances crop quality, production, rooting and stress tolerance.

The NHDelta technology favors the formation of cytokinins and regulates the development of plant tissues, stimulating the formation of secondary roots so that the plant does not stop growing under the conditions mentioned above.

XStress

XStress is a nutritional product developed to reduce the negative effects that result from environmental stressful situations. XStress contains a mixture of micronutrients, with a new system of formulation which gives an advantage to penetrate into the leaf stomata easily and without any effort. This technology is a powerful tool for combating abiotic stress which together with specially combined nutrients to improve the crop growth in extreme conditions such as high or low temperature

CalFlux

CalFlux gives better cellular wall structure, improving the size, quality, homogeneity and colour of fruit and produce. CalFlux helps plants effectively use calcium while under stress caused poor environmental conditions, such as temperature extremes, excess or limited water, poor or high light condition and salinity, that would normally lead to flower/fruit loss.

Blush

Blush is a biostimulant designed to improve fruit color. It provides the Molybdenum and Boron that the crop needs to mature in a highly efficient formula that optimizes color by accelerating the formation of color pigments when the cold slows down this natural function in the plant.

Molybdenum is a key element in the formation of ABA (abcic acid). On one hand, it acts as a key cofactor in the synthesis of carotenoid pigments, which are precursors of ABA. On the other hand, it forms an essential structural part of the oxidase enzyme that converts the aldehyde of abscisic acid into the hormone ABA.

Blush improves both processes, influencing the formation of carotenoids and anthocyanins (colored pigments) and, therefore, on the date of harvest, but does not alter the process of phenological development of the fruit, preventing the fruit from aging prematurely.

The “slow down” effect in the activity of the plants caused by the cold and the stress conditions derived from the drop in temperatures is greatly mitigated with the implementation of the eCoCulture strategy and its range of products specialized in alleviating the negative effects of all types of stress in all types of crops.
